Coronation Hall
The Coronation Hall in County Square, Ulverston is one of the
principal buildings in the district, having the largest capacity of
any hall in the area.
Opened officially on 3rd June 1920 the Coronation Hall
offers excellent entertainment including performances by highly
acclaimed touring companies in the fields of music, theatre, ballet
and opera.

The "Coro" as the building is affectionately
called also serves as a public hall for Ulverston and receives
bookings for various functions, including exhibitions, conferences,
meetings, corporate launches, weddings, lectures, training
sessions, coffee mornings, antique fairs etc. Recently
included in the funding from Spirit of Cumbria (for floodlighting)
this completed the improvements and refurbishment started by a
National Lottery Grant 6 years ago.
Management of the Coronation Hall
It is owned and operated by South Lakeland District
Council and was built during the First World War to
commemorate the coronation of King George V.
