My concern is the for the land between
Grange Fell Post office up to Spring Bank Farm.
This would create a terrible problem on Grange Fell Road. This road is
narrow, in parts without a footpath and already carried fast traffic. To
put more cars and even worse lorries would be a great error.
Also the scenery from the road to Spring Bank, and the slope to
Hampsfell, would be ruined. A beautiful view decimated. A place loved by
visitors to the area would be lost.
Also who would want business properties up there? This land would be
better used growing crops for biofuel. Nobody yet knows how much of this
will be needed, but no doubt far more than we think at this time.
For these, and other reasons, we wish to object to this suggestion, and
appeal to the powers that be to think again.
