Having the site so close to the school and village playground would increase the danger to the children with the build up of additional traffic being introduced.
Also building on the area between the two vilages would create a conurbation that would effectively end the two seperate villages character.
The area proposed is also a flood risk for a large part of the year and the introduction of more housing would put even more pressure on the already inadequate drainage within the two villages.
When Barrow is struggling to sell office and small unit space what makes the council believe that Urswick will attract these businesses with less accessable transport links and support networks.
It appears the proposal has been produced purely on a financial/ revenue basis at the expense of any consideration for what makes this area such an attractive place for tourists to visit and local people to be proud of.
What change(s) would you suggest for this part of the Report?
Alternative sites should be sort. If any building is to take place within the Little and Great Urswick boundaries it should be on a much smaller scale.
Please use this space if you wish to set out a new option for consideration.
I do not know the surrounding area well enough to suggest suitable alternative sites at this stage but I can not believe this is the best option.
