When searching for responses, consider whether a settlement name or site reference might have been entered by respondents in different ways and undertake 2 or more searches accordingly. For example:

where a settlement name could have be written with or without hyphens, carry out searches on possible variations (eg Kirkby in Furness and Kirkby-in-Furness)
for site references ending with a # symbol, we suggest you search on the site reference twice - with and without the #.

No matter how settlement names have been spelt and site references written, all responses will be taken fully into account.
