How to take part in making decisions
The Council makes decisions in a democratic way using elected
representatives. You can get involved the decision making process
such as asking a questions in a council meeting and contacting your
local councillor.

For more information on the Localism Act and how it affects
communities you can read the guide to localism.
The guide is intentded to give an overview of the
Localism Act and describes the main measures of the
Localism Act under four headings:
- new freedoms and flexibilities for local government
- new rights and powers for communities and individuals
- reform to make the planning system more democratic and more
effective
- reform to ensure that decisions about housing are taken
