| Conditions / Reason for Refusal: |
1. The increased parking and access width would lead to more intensive parking and traffic movements which would be detrimental to highway safety by reason of the limited visibility particularly to the east, the lack of on-site turning space which would lead to vehicles either entering or leaving the site in reverse gear and the proximity to the road junction to the north and west of the property.
2. The increased width of access and parking space and associated loss of boundary wall and garden would be detrimental to the special architectural and historic character of this part of the Kendal Conservation Area and contrary to saved Policy C16 of the South Lakeland Local Plan and Policy CS8.6 of the adopted South Lakeland Core Strategy.
