Doors’

A NEW iPhone application is making it even
easier to find out how clean a restaurant or takeaway is when you
fancy a quick snack or a night out.
The free ‘Scores on the Doors’ app means
iPhone users will be able to find the food hygiene star rating for
businesses based on any location.
Even better, for those who have a 3GS or 4
iPhone, the Radar feature means you can find out the number of
stars by simply pointing your phone at the premises.
Alternatively all phone users can find out
star ratings by text message or by visiting http://www.sotd.tv/
The website lists all the restaurants and
takeaways that are inspected by SLDC’S Environmental Health
Officers across South Lakeland.
Food premises are scored from zero to five
stars with five being the top award.
Cllr Clare Feeney-Johnson, SLDC
portfolio holder for Environment and Sustainability, said:
“This is a great new way that makes it even easier for people to
find out how their favourite restaurant has scored.
“Our officers work hard monitoring food
hygiene standards and it’s important people can access this
information and make decisions based upon it.
“More food premises are gaining more stars
which means standards of hygiene are improving all the time.”
