Respect your Neighbourhood Roadshow coming to you

8 March 2010

South Lakeland District Council is holding a series of Roadshows called Respect your Neighbourhood at different venues throughout South Lakeland.  SLDC staff will be out and about in Staveley, Holme, Endmoor, Grange-over-Sands and Windermere starting on Tuesday 16 March.

Officers from SLDC and Cumbria Police will be available to speak to members of the public to offer help and advice on how to deal with issues that local communities are concerned about such as litter, dog fouling and abandoned vehicles.

Respect your Neighbourhood Roadshows will be held at the following venues in South Lakeland:

Tuesday 16 March - 10am – 2pm
Alec Row Car Park, Main Street, Staveley

Wednesday 17 March - 10am – 12pm
The Square Car Park, Milnthorpe Road, Holme

Wednesday 17 March -  1pm – 3pm
Endmoor Village Hall, Endmoor

Thursday 18 March - 10am – 2pm
Kents Bank Road Car Park, Grange over Sands

Friday 19 March - 10am – 2pm
Broad Street Car Park, Windermere

John Barwise, SLDC Enforcement Officer, said, “By going out and about in the district we are encouraging local residents to come and have a chat with us about the issues and concerns they have about their neighbourhood.  Everyone wants to live in a clean, safe, litter free environment and we hope that the Roadshows will have a positive affect on how people look after the area in which they live.”

The Respect your Neighbourhood Roadshow will be travelling around South Lakeland and there are plans to hold more events in other local communities in the future.  Further dates and venues will be confirmed very soon.
