One call service for the bereaved

A new one call service was recently set up to ease the stress on people who have lost loved ones.

The service enables a one call approach to notify the relevant authorities of a death. Set up as a joint service between South Lakeland District Council, Cumbria County Council and Lancashire County Council the service allows members of the public to visit South Lakeland District Council offices (in Kendal, Ulverston or Windermere) who will pass on the relevant information to government departments such as the DVLA, the Passport Service, DWP and others.

See the Tell Us Once news release for more details of the service
