offering something for all tastes and budgets. This area is
renowned for local produce and you can buy delicious food stuffs
from farmers markets, shops and delicatessens.

For local crafts and produce look out for the Made in
Cumbria sign and you will find ideal reminders of your visit to
the South Lakes.
The South Lakes are famous for food and drink - there is wide
variety of restaurants, cafés and pubs in which to sample local
fare. For example you could start with Morecambe Bay
shrimps, followed by traditional Cumberland Sausage, then Sticky
Toffee Pudding and locally produced ice cream, topped off
with Damson Gin. If you just fancy a snack, Grasmere
Gingerbread or Kendal Mintcake are hard to beat!
Several towns and villages in the area now have Fairtrade status. When you
