Grass Cutting
Grass cutting is carried out from the end of March to the
beginning of November. There are six different regimes to suit each
site. The table below shows the schedule in place.
Fine sports turf at bowling greens, putting greens and
mini-golf greens
Grass cutting takes place three times per week, grass is
collected and removed.
Ornamental lawns at ornamental parks and high profile
parks
Grass cutting takes place once per week, grass is collected and
removed.
Household lawns at sheltered housing
Grass cutting takes place once per fortnight, week, grass is
collected.
Amenity grass area at household estates, cemeteries, open
spaces, verges and parks
Grass is cut approximately sixteen times per year, grass is not
collected.
Rough bankings at any site too dangerous to cut due to severe
slopes or too rough to cut with mechanical mowers
Grass is cut once per month from May onwards, grass is not
collected.
Wild flower meadows at designated areas to be left uncut to
encourage the presence of wild flowers.
Grass is cut once each year in August, grass is removed.
