Windermere Waterfront
The Windermere Waterfront Programme is made
up of a series of regeneration projects, based around Lake
Windermere. The Lake is District National Park Authority
working with public and private sector organisations (including
South Lakeland District Council) as well as local communities to
bring these projects forward. 
The programme is all about creating a world-class visitor
experience around Lake Windermere by focusing on, and
transforming, the key strategic sites around the lake in a way that
secures a cohesive destination. All strategic sites should be
linked via the lake, managing the visitor pressures at this key
destination.' (from Lake District National Park Local Development
