Public Realm Consultation

Kendal Futures, the regeneration partnership for Kendal, is in the process of producing a

Design Guide for the public areas of Kendal.  This Guide will help steer development of the town’s central areas to be more welcoming to both locals and visitors. 

The aim is to make Kendal a more inviting place, increase repeat visits and support local businesses. A more attractive and better functioning town centre will boost regeneration and bring benefits to the local economy.

Consultants Taylor Young have been appointed to develop the guide and have held workshops (internal and external) to help identify local concerns and opportunities and have consulted young people and local businesses using an on-line questionnaire.

The consultation so far has helped us understand the issues and opportunities for Kendal.
