New Road Common Land

NEW ROAD COMMON TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY

New Road Common will be closed temporarily from Sunday 11 September until Saturday 17 September.  This is so that South Lakeland District Council can carry out ground contamination testing in preparation for the planning application and deregistration process, as part of the ongoing project to regenerate this area of Kendal town centre. 

Taylors Fun Fair will be using New Road Common from Thursday 8 September until Sunday 11 September and then the whole area will be securely fenced off to allow bore hole testing to take place.  However, the council would like to point out that if all the work is completed before Saturday 17 September, New Road Common would be re-opened sooner.
