Kirkland Enhancement Scheme

Kirkland News Update No 2 - 20 January 2010

Work has now started on improving Kirkland’s footways and lighting. The works will last 8 weeks and the areas affected are listed below. Loading bays will be made available for affected businesses as part of the temporary one lane operation. Please speak directly with the Thomas Armstrong site manager to advise of regular deliveries or if you have any special access requirements.

Programme of work – geographical areas

  • 18 Jan – 2 Feb - Dowkers Lane to Peppercorn Lane Car Park 
  • 18 Jan – 14 Feb -Nether Bridge (west) to Wheatsheaf
  • 15 Feb – 12 March - Nether Bridge (east) – Robinson Electrical
  • 3 Feb – 21 Feb - Wheatsheaf Pub to Gillinggate
  • 21 Feb – 21 Mar - Road markings, installation/ removal of signs, Installation of new lighting and prismo carriageway paving
