Procurement at SLDC
The Procurement Department at South Lakeland District Council is
here to assist Council Officers in purchasing goods, works and
services in a manner which is open, transparent and allows
potential suppliers to bid from a level playing field. We hope to
continually work with both staff and suppliers alike as we
tailor our procurement process to achieve positive environmental
and socio-economic impacts.
Procurement News!
- As of Thursday 1st September 2011 It will
be a requirement that all invoices received at SLDC include a
Purchase Order Number. This has been communicated
to current suppliers.
- Constitutional Change: Council
Officers will now be seeking written quotations for purchases
over £2,500, opening up low value opportunities to
more suppliers
- We will soon be circulating a Supplier Survey to our current
suppliers. It is hoped that this will provide us with valued
feedback on how we can streamline the procurement process
and work more effectively with suppliers of all shapes and
sizes
The Chest
We aim to advertise all opportunities on the North West
e-tendering portal, The Chest. All
suppliers interested in doing business with the Council are
encouraged to
register on the Chest which is free and takes approximately
5-10 minutes. By registering on the portal suppliers will be made
aware of opportunities of interest, not just at SLDC but at
the majority of local authorities across the North West.
Current SLDC Contracts
Current South Lakeland District Council contracts can
be viewed on our Contract
Register or alternatively, contracts in place at SLDC and
across the North West public sector can be accessed via
the
North West Contract Register
