The following grants are currently available to business:-

Support and Advice


Business Link North West

Business Link offers free advice and help to businesses.  This includes issues :

Business Link are government funded and managed in the North West by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA). 

Cumbria Rural Enterprise Agency (CREA)

CREA offers help to new and existing businesses of all sizes across South Lakeland excluding Ulverston and Low Furness.  Services include start-up advice, business guidance, grants and training.
 

Furness Enterprise (FE)

Furness Enterprise covers South West Cumbria's Furness peninsula, one of the UK's Assisted Areas including Ulverston and Low Furness.  They offer a wide range of free support services and can provide companies with a ISO9001 Quality Assured locally provided, locally focused, simplified business support service. 
 

Cumbria Asset Reinvestment Trust (C.A.R.T.)

CART providing business finance & support to businesses, both start-up & existing, who have been unable to secure their financial requirements from mainstream lenders, such as banks, etc. 

Cumbria Chamber of Commerce

Chamber of Commerce represent both small to medium enterprises and larger corporate organisations across Cumbria. Membership of the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce opens up a wealth of free essential business information and advice, networking opportunities, International Trade support, Member2Member offers and discounts on a whole range of services. 

Federation of Small Business

Federation of Small Business offer an extensive range of member services and benefits for small businesses and self employed people.

Jobcentre Plus

Jobcentre Plus is a government agency who help people looking for a job or training to help them gain employment. They also help employers with current job vacancies.

Prince’s Trust (Business)

The Prince's Trust is for young people aged 18-30 and disadvantaged due to social, economic or environmental conditions, to help them set up new businesses. 

Rural Women's Network

Rural Women's Network help women in Cumbria realise their full potential through business support and the development of personal and workplace skills.
