Empty/ Unoccupied Property Rates
In general, there will be no Business Rates to pay for the first
three months that a property is empty and unoccupied.
After that, the full rate is payable.
Industrial buildings are exempt for a period of six months.
After that the full rate is payable.
Listed buildings plus small properties with rateable values of
less than £2,600 are exempt when empty and unoccupied.
